Semi Truck Driver Who Hit Dentist Office in Clarkston Charged
Clarkston, MI – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the Crash Reconstruction Unit, and Deputies from the Independence Substation have been continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a personal injury crash which occurred on April 20, 2018, in the City of the Village of Clarkston.
Last Friday, at 1:17PM, a commercial semi-truck trailer crashed into a dentist office building located on Main Street near Waldon Road. The case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office today. After reviewing the case, an arrest warrant was issued on charges of reckless driving.
Robert Eckola, a 52 year old resident of Oxford, was arraigned on the reckless driving charge in front of Judge Kelley R. Kostin of 52-2 District Court in Clarkston. Mr. Eckola was issued a $2,000 personal bond with a restriction of no driving until he is evaluated by both a medical and eye doctor.
The charge of reckless driving carries a penalty of a 93 day misdemeanor. Mr. Eckola has no prior criminal history. The next court date has been set for May 17, 2018, at 8:30am in front of Judge Kostin.
