Clawson Superintendent Announces Retirement
Clawson, MI- Clawson Public Schools Superintendent Monique Beels announced that she will be retiring from her position effective June 30, 2018.
In announcing her retirement, Ms. Beels said, “I wish to express deep gratitude and appreciation for the amazing people I’ve worked with and the wonderful opportunity for learning and growth I’ve been afforded during my six years with Clawson.” She thanked the staff for their “kindness, support and love for children”.
“During Ms. Beels six years serving as Clawson Public Schools Superintendent, she genuinely shared and showed love for all students in the district. She shared her knowledge in curriculum development and we are grateful for all that she did to help improve the district,” said Board of Education President Andrea Hodges.
The Board of Education will be assisted in its search for a new superintendent by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a service organization that supports the work of school boards throughout Michigan.
The Board believes it is critical to have feedback from all constituents in the search for the next superintendent. “We want input from parents, staff and the community to assist us in the selection,” said Ms. Hodges. “We will be developing a timeline highlighting the milestones in the search process, which will be announced soon.”
