Fire at Lake Orion Wendy’s Caused by Grease Fire

THROUGH MIDNIGHT SHIFT:  03-11-2018, 07:00 hrs.

INCIDENT:  18:52 hrs. – Village of Lake Orion – Assist to Other Law Enforcement Agency / Request for the OCSO Fire Investigations Unit – #18-45714
SUMMARY:  Deputies were requested by the Village of Lake Orion Police Department to assist them by closing the northbound and southbound lanes of traffic on S. Broadway Street (M-24) from Congress Street to Atwater Street.  The Orion Township Fire Department was on the scene of a structure fire at the Wendy’s Restaurant located in the 380 block of S. Broadway Street.  There were no reported injuries.  The Orion Township Fire Chief requested the OCSO Fire Investigations Unit to respond the scene.
 
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  An Investigator from the OCSO Fire Investigations Unit responded for a cause and origin investigation.  The fire was accidental in nature and was caused by grease from the deep fryer.
