Two Walled Lake Students to be Prosecuted for Threats

On Friday, March 2, 2018, there was a non-specific, threatening message sent from a Walled Lake Northern student via Instagram. The situation was immediately addressed by school administration in cooperation with the Oakland County Sheriff assigned to Walled Lake Northern.
The student who made the threat is suspended indefinitely.  Although we do not believe any one was in danger at any time, we are taking all threats, photos of guns and profane messages seriously. Any and all students who make verbal statements or online posts related to school violence will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and the maximum limits of our Student Code of Conduct.
Safety is of the utmost importance in Walled Lake Schools, and we are committed to reporting, investigating, and communicating each incident.

On Thursday, March 1, 2018, there was a threat made toward one Walled Lake Central student via Snapchat. The situation was immediately addressed by school administration in cooperation with the Oakland County Sheriff assigned to Walled Lake Central.
The student who made the threat was immediately removed from school and remains suspended indefinitely.  The Sheriff’s Deputy does not believe the threat was credible and believes that no one was in danger at any time. Any and all students who make verbal statements or online posts related to school violence will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and the maximum limits of our Student Code of Conduct.
Safety is of the utmost importance in Walled Lake Schools, and we are committed to reporting, investigating, and communicating each incident and prosecuting to the full extent of the law. To that end, this case has been sent to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s office.
