Auburn Hills Approves Mixed Use Development for Designhaus Headquarters

Auburn Hills, MI – The City of Auburn Hills, MI formally approved the development of a 25,000 SF Mixed Use Building on the Southeast Corner of Auburn Road and South Squirrel Road on Monday Evening at City Hall.
Local Architect and Managing Member of Designhaus, PLLC, Peter Stuhlreyer, AIA presented the Four story contemporary building to the favorable City Council.
The building is slated to be the new Midwest Headquarters for Designhaus, 20 year old multidisciplinary architecture and design firm founded in Oakland County. The upper floor will be six urban loft style apartments boasting balconies, glass walls and westerly views from over 40 feet from the ground.
The middle floors, including the 18-person Designhaus team, will also set aside 6,000 SF for executive style offices, primarily targeted at autonomous vehicle technology start-ups and service providers.
The executive suites will have access to a powerful manged fiber optic internet stream, large and small meeting areas, administrative assistance, a print room and generous open gathering space with a complete kitchen.
The street level is reserved for a 5,500 SF Restaurant/Bar which includes large overhead doors and sidewalk dining, although the selection process for a regional restaurant has yet to formally begin.
The project is slated to commence in mid-2018 and be ready for occupancy by August 2019. Dubbed The MiL (Midwest Innovation Lofts), leasing availability will be made public through social media outlets Mid-April 2018. For more information call 248.601.4422.
