Berkley to Hear from City Council Applicants at Monday Meeting
Berkley, MI- Berkley City Council will be hearing from applicants to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Councilperson Alan Kideckel.
The meeting will be Monday, Feb. 26 at 7pm at Berkley City Hall.
A subcommittee made up of Mayor Pro Tem Steve Baker and Councilmembers Eileen Steadman and Ross Gavin reviewed the applications and used a scorecard to rate the applicants in terms of community engagement, professional experience and background and diversity. Bridget Dean, Sue Citraro, Natalie Price, Jessica Lumbreras, Charlene Kondrat, Charles Tyrell, Devin Bone and Kevin McNulty are being considered.
Each candidate is invited to speak at the Feb. 26 special meeting.  Council is expected to make an appointment at the March 5, 2018 meeting. The selected applicant’s term would end in Nov. 2019.
The subcommittee ranked Bridget Dean the highest, but Council is the body tasked with making the final decision. The public is welcome at both meetings.
