Berkley, MI – Berkley High School Students are free to leave, with extra security monitoring dismissal, after a single bullet was found on the floor in the auditorium according to Berkley Public Safety.
Public Safety Director Matt Koehn told the media outside the school that a 9mm bullet was found at lunchtime and that the school was placed on lock down. “We have been though the school, did not locate any other bullets, or anything else. There’s no specific or credible threats to the students here,” he said.
Lock down means that students and teachers remained in classrooms while the building was searched.
“Weapons of any kind should not be in the school and we will not tolerate it,” Cohen said.
The source of the bullet is still under investigation. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
