Woman Doused with Gas and Set on Fire in Holly, Husband Charged

Holly, MI. – Detective Heather Wolkow presented to the Oakland County Prosecutors a Warrant Request for David John Garnett Jr. W/M 55 years old. The Warrant was issued and sworn to at the 52/2 District Court in Clarkston. The subsequent warrant was issued for Mr. Garnett following an incident at his and the victims home, 4041 Grange Hall Rd, Holly MI on 2-5-18. The victim in that incident was doused in gasoline and set on fire. She escaped by leaping from the bedroom window where she was set ablaze. After escaping to a neighbor the police were summoned. Mr. Garnett was taken into custody and lodged at the Oakland County Jail. The victim in this incident is still in an area hospital but is awaiting release possibly today after suffering from second and third degree burns. The warrant contains the following counts
- Assault W/I to Commit Murder
- Arson in the 1st Degree
His arraignment was done via OakVideo from the Jail. His bond was set at $1,000,000 No 10% by Judge Fabrizio of the 52/2 Court. David Garnett remains incarcerated pending bond being posted or later hearing set for 2-15-18
