Two People Shot Dead in Pontiac, Two Arrested

Pontiac, MI – INCIDENT:  22:59 hrs. – City of Pontiac – Double Homicide Investigation / OCSO Forensic Laboratory assist – #18-8674
FROM DAY SHIFT:  01-13-2018, 07:00 hrs.
THROUGH MIDNIGHT SHIFT:  01-14-2018, 07:00 hrs.
SUMMARY:  Deputies responded to the 800 block of Robinwood Avenue on reports of gunshots being fired inside of the residence.  The call to 9-1-1 reported that two suspects were seen fleeing the residence.  The caller indicated that one suspect had fled east on Baltimore Street and the other westbound from the scene. Upon arrival, Deputies established a perimeter.  Deputies entered the residence and located two victims.  Both victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.  The scene was secure and Paramedics from Star EMS attempted to render medical attention to the two victims.  Paramedics were unable to revive either of the two victims, and subsequently provided telemetry to McLaren Hospital – Oakland where a physician pronounced the two victims deceased at the scene.  Deputies searched the residence for additional victims or potential witnesses.  Deputies located a male subject who was upstairs during the shooting and two young children who were inside of the home.  None of which were injured during the incident.
 
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  Deputies learned from one of the witnesses who had just pulled up in the driveway that he had used his vehicle to strike one of the suspects as he fled the scene on foot from the residence.  The suspect managed to escape and continue to flee.  Witnesses were transported to the Pontiac Substation to speak with Detectives.  A K-9 unit responded to the scene and conducted a search for the suspects.  A track was established, but was terminated once that it was determined that the suspects were picked up by a vehicle.  The OCSO Forensic Science Laboratory responded to process the scene. The shooting occurred as a result of a marijuana purchase that was set up by the suspects from the deceased male that resulted in the shooting. Detectives were able to develop suspects.   The suspects were arrested later in the AM and lodged OCJ pending charges. Thee suspected semi-automatic handgun used was recovered.

SUSPECT INFORMATION:  21 year old male, resident of the City of Pontiac and a 17 year old male, resident of the City of Pontiac
