Husband Charged with Murder in Wife’s Death in Novi

NOVI, Mich., January 8, 2018 – The husband of the 32-year-old female found dead on January 4 inside a home on the 29000 block of Pierre was arraigned Monday afternoon on a charge of first-degree premeditated murder.
Novi Police were called to the home on a welfare check and subsequently found the deceased body of Heather Alyce Dixon inside. Her husband, Derrick Anthony Dixon, 31, was also home at the time and taken into police custody as a person of interest.
The charge of first-degree premeditated murder is punishable by up to life in prison. An autopsy by the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s office ruled that Heather Dixon died from strangulation.
Dixon’s next scheduled court date is 9:15am on January 17 before 52-1 District Court Judge Robert Bondy.
