UPDATE: Tuesday morning Fire Marshal Brian Batten responded to questions, stating “Fire at Sam’s Ferndale Grill is currently under investigation. They had a fire back in 2004 or 2005 that resulted in major damages and the owners rebuilt the restaurant. Last nights fire caused significant damage to the room of origin, and smoke damages throughout the restaurant. It is likely that the loss may exceed $50,000. No one was hurt and the restaurant was closed at the time of the fire.”
