Teen Arrested for Theft at Drive Thru Window in Clarkston (video)

INCIDENT: 02:13 hrs.Nov. 21, 2017 – Independence Township – Larceny from a Building / Possession of Marijuana – #17-214424

SUMMARY:  Deputies responded to the McDonalds located in the 5600 block of  Sashabaw Rd on the report that  there were two male suspects at the business and one of the subjects had stolen money from reaching into the cash register via the drive through window.  Prior to the Deputy’s arrival, the responsible suspect fled on foot while the second suspect was detained.

OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  The suspect was last seen running eastbound across Sashabaw Road before the complainant lost sight of him.  A perimeter was established by Deputies while others conducted a search of several adjacent businesses, neighborhoods and side roads.  A K-9 was requested to assist in the search.  A K-9 unit was available from the City of Troy Police Department and responded to the scene.  Shortly before the K-9 unit’s arrival, the suspect was located and was taken into custody. The suspect was searched and Deputies recovered the stolen money, $24.00, and found a quantity of Marijuana from his pockets.  The suspect was transported to the Oakland County Jail where he was lodged pending the issuance of criminal charges. The second suspect was released as it was determined he was not involved.

ARRESTEE INFORMATION:  18 year old male, a resident of Independence Township.
