Ferndale Elks Honor City
Workers and Volunteers

Ferndale, MI – Each Year Ferndale Elks hosts a ceremony to honor those who serve the community as volunteers and as city staff.
Law and Order Night thanks all who serve Ferndale, including the Firefighter of the Year and Police Officer of the Year. Gary McMemenamin was awarded Fire Fighter of the Year after resuscitating a kitten rescued from a burning home. Police Officer of the Year was awarded to Sgt. Dan Simon who has over 20 years of service on the force.
The Elks also recognized Fred Lewis as Court Employee of the Year, Ramo Richardson as DPW employee of the Year and City Planner Justin Lyons as City Hall worker of the Year.
Jerry Olli, a longtime Elks member and avid photographer of Ferndale events, was awarded Senior Citizen of the Year.
And Citizen of the Year was given to Jim and Megan Pool of Renaissance Vineyard Church who often coordinate efforts to help the community.
