Troy Election Results 2017

Troy, MI – Unofficial results are in for the Troy election held Nov. 7.

Three candidates earned enough votes to make it onto City Council: Ellen Hodorek with 8,591 votes, David Hamilton with 7,797 votes and Edward Pennington with 6,677 votes.

Those that did not make it were Paul McCown with 6,129 votes, Sunil Sivaraman with 4,577 votes, Kumar Giri with 3,924 votes and Mark Gunn with 3,891.

Troy voters turned down a ballot proposal to amend the Charter to require a public vote on city-owned land sales over 2 acres. The 42.90% yes vote was outnumbered byt the 57.10% no vote.

Voters approved a building and site sinking tax fund proposal for Troy Schoo District, with 67.72% voting yes and 32.28% voting no.
