Berkley to Auction off Ice Arena Equipment and Supplies

Berkley, MI – On Saturday, November 11th the City of Berkley will conduct an auction of all arena equipment and supplies at the Berkley Ice Arena located at 2300 Robina. The auction begins at 11 AM and run through late afternoon. Arena operators, residents and the general public are welcome to bid on concession equipment, ice skates, office equipment, furniture and more. Click here to view some of the items to be auctioned.

The following terms and conditions apply: All sales are final. All items will be sold “as is”. Full payment is due at the time of sale by cash or check.

The city canceled all activities and closed the ice arena in 2016 due to mechanical failures of the ice making equipment and other building systems. Estimates to repair, or otherwise renovate, the facility proved to be cost prohibitive. In September, the facility was winterized to reduce overall operating cost and, will reopen for a limited number of seasonal events.

“This is the end of an era in Berkley.” said Matt Baumgarten, Berkley City Manager. “This auction provides residents, along with hockey team and figure skating alumni, an opportunity to own a piece of Berkley history.”
