2017 Candidate Interview: Oak Park Councilperson Carolyn Burns

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 18, 2017)

Oak Park, MI – Oak Park Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn Burns is seeking re-election to Oak Park City Council in the Nov. 7, 2017 election. There are two seats available. Also running are Andrew Cissell and Regina Weiss.

Mayor Pro Tem Burns has a Bachelors degree in business administration and a Masters in global operations and project management.  She has worked as Chief of Staff for a State Representative in Lansing and for nonprofit organizations.

“People should vote for me because I have a proven track record,” Burns said.  “I am committed to Oak Park.  In addition to being on the City Council for the last four years, I’ve also been a homeowner in Oak Park for the last 17 years.  I also want to remain engaged in what goes on in our neighborhood and I want to tell the people how our tax dollars are being spent, what are the upcoming projects, and anything that the residents feel needs attention I’m available for.”
