2017 Candidate Interview:
Randy LeVasseur for Royal Oak Commission (partial)
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 9, 2017)
Royal Oak, MI –Randy LeVasseur is one of two people vying for a partial term on the Royal Oak City Commission. The term ends 11/25/2019. Brandon Anthony Kolo is also running for the seat.
LeVasseur is real estate attorney who also specializes in helping people have their property taxes reduced. He has volunteered with Shrine Schools and cleaning the graves of Veterans
When asked why people should vote for him, LeVasseur said “My opponent, I don’t know him. He seems to be a nice young man. He has a lot of energy and I appreciate that. I do think because I am roughly 20 years older than him I have more experiences than he’s had time to have yet – experiences being a homeowner, a taxpayer, a parent, an attorney, a businessman. These are experiences that I can draw upon when I’m serving residents on the City Commission. We also have very different perspectives on the City Center Development. He’s come out in favor of giving that $5 ½ million subsidy to the private developer, giving that parking lot to the developer and spending over $2,000 per household on the new government facilities downtown. That’s a very distinct difference between him and me.”
