(Diane Williams Shaw, Oct. 6, 2017)
Rochester, MI – Downtown Rochester storefronts came to life Thursday night with displays from favorite movies with live mannequins giving their best poses for the passers-by.
“We enjoy the event,” said Diane Williams Shaw who took pictures as she went from store to store. “The storeowners are so creative and fun, and we love seeing who might show up in the windows – a store owner’s son, a high school athlete, a local volunteer, etc.
“We usually grab Dana’s mom and our two 8 year old boys and walk around and see if we can tell what the windows are before reading the signs.
“We saw the last window headed south before the bridge was Xena window, we are big fans and were very sorry we missed it in foot, it looked amazing! Our favorites included the Ghostbusters, Harry Potter and the Frankenstein window. Edward Scissorhands was cool as well, and we always love what the Funky Frog puts on- this year it was “Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs!”
Shaw also enjoyed the samples of Sanders’s chocolate caramels.
