2017 Candidate Interview: Pleasant Ridge Commissioner Bret Scott

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Sept. 19, 2017)

Pleasant Ridge, MI –  Pleasant Ridge City Commissioner Bret Scott is running for re-election on the Nov. 7, 2017 ballot. There are two seats available for four year terms. Also running are Sean Campbell, Alex Lenko and Amanda WWahl.

Commissioner Scott was elected in 2013 and as part of his service he sits on the Investment Board for the City.  He works in the automotive industry.

When asked about accomplishments thus far on the Commission, Scott said “It is been an absolute pleasure serving the residents and businesses in Pleasant Ridge. We’ve had a pretty good run the last three years. Hired a new city manager, installed new park equipment on the east side of our city. And we’ve done a fantastic job, at least in my view, of managing in the city budget which I think very important. Following the downturn of 2008 we’ve done some investment changes, so the cities on a sound path. And things have been running very smoothly. I think one of the benefits that we have in the city of Pleasant Ridge is its charm, its character. And while taking care of all these normal business things, we’ve been able to maintain the character of the city I think that’s really important. It’s one of the things I’m very happy about.”
