2017 Candidate Interview: Gabriel Costanzo for Walled Lake City Council

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Sept. 5, 2017)

Walled Lake, MI – Gabriel Costanzo is one of five candidates running for three seats on the Walled Lake City Council’s Nov. 7, 2017 election. Also on the ballot are Dan Lauffer, Bennett Lublin, John Owsinek and Robert Robertson.

Costanzo has lived in Walled Lake for over 20 years and has over 25 years in retail management.  He has served on the Parks and Recreation board and as Chair of the 11th District Congressional Majority Committee Community Outreach board. And he has volunteered for the Lakes Area Coalition.

“I believe our city’s lacked a vision for too long,” Costanzo said.  “We have stayed as a small community for many many years.  The City of Walled Lake is more a pass-through community at this point. It is not a destination.  People drive from other communities through our community or people that live in our community leave our community. We don’t have very much growth in our city itself per se.  We’re not a destination point. We need our city to grow. We need to draw business in and make it so we can help support the tax base through a thriving economy.”
