Henry Ford Hospital W. Bloomfield Hosting Emergency Preparedness Expo Sept. 26

West Bloomfield, Mich. – Is your family prepared for an emergency? Being ready before a power outage, fire, flood, or other potential crisis situation can mean the difference between managed inconvenience and a major disaster.

The public is invited to attend an Emergency Preparedness Expo 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.

Representatives from Henry Ford, Oakland County Public Health and Emergency Management, the West Bloomfield Fire Department and EMS, and others will be available to answer questions on topics including:

Personal preparedness planning (family communications plans, emergency kits, children, pets and special populations)

Household emergency preparedness (chemical spills, preventing the spread of disease, boil-water advisories, etc.)

Weather safety

Cyber-security tips

Basic life-saving techniques

Fire safety and equipment

Michigan volunteer opportunities
