2017 Candidate Interview: Alex Lenko for Pleasant Ridge Commission

Pleasant Ridge, MI – Alex Lenko is one of four candidates for two seats on the Pleasant Ridge City Commission.  The election is Nov. 7, 2017.  Also on the ballot are Sean Campbell, Amanda Wahl and incumbent Bret Scott.

Lenko is a life-long Pleasant Ridge resident who works as a purchasing professional.  He’s served on the Planning Commission and the Downtown Development Authority, and also volunteered as a Pleasant Ridge Foundation Trustee.

When asked why he’s running, Lenko said “My key priorities, I’ve come up with the acronym ECO, so Environment, Community and Organization.  As the risk of sounding sensational, I’m a Pleasant Ridge lifer.  Except for a couple months in my entire life I’ve lived in Pleasant Ridge, both on the East side and the West side.  The community is very special.  People stumble over each other to get housing in Pleasant Ridge.  Its very tree lined, very leafy, established and a definite community. So that sense of neighborly-ism and a vested interest in seeing the community be as special as it can be. So volunteerism is very important to me. The environment is very important to me. And action is very important to me, being an activist. So those reasons combined are why I feel people should vote for me.  I will work for you, work for the commission, with the commission interest in mind.”
