2017 Candidate Interview: Dennis Hennen for Berkley City Council
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Aug. 22, 2017)
Berkley, MI – In the November 7, 2017 election Dennis Hennen is one of five people running for three seats on the Berkley City Council. Also on the ballot are Charles A. Tyrrell and incumbents Steven (Steve) Baker, Jack Blanchard and Colleen Graveline.
Hennen works as a computer programmer with degrees in computer science and mathematics. He is also on the board of Berkley Citizens United, a group that is vocal in opposition to current city leaders. They have fought against building rental developments. They have also made accusations of local officials that were determined by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office to be unfounded.
“I think I’ve shown, with my commitment to the city, with my work with Berkeley Citizens United, how much I care, how passionate I am to preserving Berkley, and making sure we are able to move forward but also keep the things that are really desirable about the city,” Hennen said. “I really demonstrated the amount of work, the amount of effort willing to put in to help the city and look out for the city. And I want to be able to serve the people and continue to do that work.”
