Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Woodward Ave.

Bloomfield Township, MI – On Friday, August 11, 2017 at approximately 5:30 A.M., Bloomfield Township Police and Fire responded to a report of a fatal collision involving a 2014 Dodge Caravan and a pedestrian.  Initial reports indicate the Caravan, driven by a 61 year old female from Hazel Park, was traveling N/B on Woodward Ave when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway.

The pedestrian, a white female approximately 30-40 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Alcohol and speed do not appear be factors in the incident.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Bloomfield Township Traffic Investigations Unit.  Members of the Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigations Team (SOCCIT) assisted with the on-scene investigation.

Police are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the crash or has information pertaining to the pedestrian.  They may contact Bloomfield Township Dispatch at 248-433-7755.
