2017 Candidate Interview: Novi Mayor Bob Gatt
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Aug. 5, 2017)
Novi, MI – Novi Mayor Bob Gatt is seeking reelection on the Nov. 7 ballot, facing two opponents: Jason G. W. Dorsch and Bin Quamruzzaman.
Gatt has been Mayor for three two-year terms and served on City Council for 8 years before that. Before that he was part of the Novi Police Department for 27 years. He currently is the Director of the Oakland County Animal Control Pet Adoption Center.
“I’ve got about 42 years of continued dedication to the City of Novi,” Gatt said. “I love Novi… And we’re not done… Novi is the envy of many other municipalities. Our balance sheet is strong. We have a strong growing community and we have the best schools, the best park, the best police, the best fire. We have what I consider to be the best of the best. So we’re not done. We have about 25-30% more build out to go. I’d like to be here until Novi is all built out. I was part of its past. I’m certainly part of its present. And I want to be part of the future.”
