2017 Candidate Interview: Emily Rohrbach for Madison Heights City Council
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Aug. 5, 2017)
Madison Heights, MI- Emily Rohrbach is one of eight people running for three seats on Madison Heights City Council in the Nov. 7, 2017 election. Also on the ballot are Mark Bliss, Ronald Butcher, Johnnette P. Eggert, Aaron Flanigan, Roslyn Grafstein, Mark L. Kimble and David M. Soltis.
Rohrbach is a stay at home mother of three with a professional background in communications and community engagement for a nonprofit. Her involvement in Madison Heights has been primarily through the school and through getting to know neighbors nearby.
“I have been really thinking about how I want to serve my community, how I want to give back, and considering going back to work the last year or so I’ve been really looking at all the options that are out there,” Rohrbach said. “I saw that my heart really lies with serving my community, and what better way to do that then through government and political service.” Her three top issues are improving communication with residents, community engagement and working to replace the tree canopy that has been lost over the years due to things like road and power line repairs.
