2017 Candidate Interview: Charles “Chuck” Tyrrell for Berkley City Council

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Aug. 5, 2017)

Berkley, MI – Charles “Chuck” Tyrrell is one of five candidates competing for three seats on the Berkley City Council in the Nov. 7, 2017 election. Also on the ballot are Steven “Steve” W. Baker, Jack Blanchard, Colleen Graveline and Dennis Hennen.

Tyrrell is a 30-year resident of Berkley whose career was in purchasing for a large manufacturing company.  He also served on the Berkley Tree Board, which served in an advisory capacity to the DPW on issues such as tree inventorying, earning Tree City USA designation, and Arbor Day celebrations.

“I am a different point of view,” Tyrrell said.  “More from a practical point of view rather than a partisan point of view.  There’s some things that need to get done and we just need to buckle down and do them.  I’ve been watching things like the Planning Commission meetings…and I have to wonder if the Planning Commission people really understand their charge in terms of practicality.  There seems to be a lot of things going on in there about opinions, not about really bringing things back to a factual case basis.
