Little Things Make Oakland     County Fair Memorable

(Crystal A. Proxmire, July 16, 2017)

Davisburg, MI – The Oakland County Fair wrapped up Sunday, leaving thousands of people with happy memories, new friends, and many with ribbons and trophies to be proud of.

The fair features fun rides and events along with showcasing talent throughout the county.  The animals are a huge draw, with competitions relating to horses, cow, llamas, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, pigs and other agriculturally significant creatures.  There are also art and photography contests, drawing in students and adults. Competitions include educational projects too, such as making objects out of recycled materials, poetry and creative writing, table setting, and horticulture.

The fair also featured bottomless chocolate milk – all one could drink for a mere 50 cents.  Other attractions included monster trucks, science day, rodeo competitions, live art demonstrations, a tent full of vintage tractors, and family safety day.
