Pig and Whiskey Packs
Downtown Ferndale

Ferndale, MI – While the annual Pig and Whiskey festival is a day of fun, food and booze for thousands of visitors to Downtown Ferndale, it was an extra special day for some.
Chardae Whitson of Rochester was surprised Saturday with a bachelorette party with friends who brought her to the event. “I could not have asked for a better bachelorette party,” she said as she sipped Jack Daniels and strolled through the giant party wearing a pink sash. “I’m really lucky.”
Whitson is planning to exchange vows on August 5 with Jack Magner of Dublin, Ireland. Whitson and Magner are living and working in Singapore and will return there after all the fun and memories in the United States leading up to the wedding.
Whitson and her friends danced to The Muggs and Old Bones. They walked among the booths checking out the different kinds of food offered. Of course there were ribs, pulled pork and sausages. But there were also trucks and tables with chicken, burgers, side items and sweets – including Fruity Pebbles cannoli.
The festival continues through Sunday, with plenty of pig, whiskey, music and mingling. There is also an area for cornhole tossing and a free ferris wheel. Learn more at http://pigandwhiskeyferndale.com
