15 Furniture Finds at Holly
Antiques
(Crystal A. Proxmire, July 11, 2017)
Holly, MI – Normally when I visit Holly Antiques, my eyes are on the lookout for fun little treasures. But it turns out they have some big ones too! Among the varied vendors I was able to find over 15 interesting furniture selections (plus a lamp that I decided to throw in just because I like it).
One of the most unusual pieces is an 1840s nanny rocker, which is a long bench that rocks with a section cordoned off for an infant. I particularly liked the gray late 1940s/early 1950s era bench with the chrome handles. But for more of an antique one might prefer the French corner window seat, the walnut washer stand, or the yellow floral Victorian era dining chairs.
There was also a gigantically long chaise lounge, floral print. And a dowry chest painted with black unicorns.
The lamp, also mid century modern, has a classy look that would go well with the bench that I like. I am lucky that I get to pretend shop for articles like this. For those that can afford high quality furniture, Holly Antiques is a great place to start. Under new ownership, they are located at 118 S Saginaw St, Holly, MI.
