Celebrity Softball in Ferndale Supports Boys & Girls Club Programs

Ferndale, MI – The cracks of the softball bat followed by the “ooohs,” “ahhhs,” and cheers of spectators carried on through Saturday afternoon for the annual Celebrity Softball Tournament at Martin Road Park in Ferndale.

The event benefits Boys and Girls Clubs of Oakland and Macomb Counties and was sponsored by Clean Planet, CKC Agency and Garden Fresh Gourmet, with BBQ supplied from Woodpile in Clawson. Many of the celebrities were local media personalities, including Charlie LeDuff.  Macomb County Executive Mark Hackell was among the players along with State Representatives Robert Wittenberg and Jim Ellison, Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner, Ferndale Mayor Dave Coulter, and famed boxer Tommy “Hitman” Hearns.
