Foundation Grants Help Good Causes Grow

Ferndale, MI – The Ferndale Community Foundation awards grants each year to good causes through the community. This year’s recipients are:
The Ferndale Housing Commission is installing community gardens at both Withington and Autumn House so residents can grow fresh vegetables. ($2,500)
Ferndale Elementary PTA is building a sensory garden for educational purposes and for a peaceful stop for students to experience. ($2,000)
The Ferndale Community Concert Band will be using the money for promotional materials. ($1,500)
The Ferndale DDA is using the grant to continue its public art program, particularly their award-winning Putting Art in Smart project. ($1,000)
Ferndale Youth Assistance is using the grant to fund safe night, especially for the middle schools. ($500)
