2017 Candidate Interview:  Chris Jackson for Pontiac City Council Dist. 1

(Crystal A. Proxmire, July 5, 2017)

Pontiac, MI – Christopher (Chris) Jackson is running for City Council in Pontiac for District 1.  On the August 8 primary ballot there are five candidates for the position: Robert L. Bass, Janiece Gage, Christ Jackson, Marc A. Seay and Patrice Waterman.

Jackson is a Pontiac native who lived in Grand Rapids for college before moving back to his hometown in November.  He is working with organizers to start a business incubator in the city.

“We’re in a unique position because we aren’t doing as well as surrounding communities financially so we can really encourage entrepreneurship, building out that [economic] ecosystem, bringing about an incubator, partnering with Smart Zones.  And since I have a pretty extensive amount of experience in that, I think that’s something I can do more of,” he said.
