Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash on Seymour Lake Road

SUMMARY:  Deputies and the Brandon Township Fire Department responded to a personal injury accident that involved a Motor Vehicle vs. Motorcycle.  The crash occurred in the 500 block of Seymour Lake Rd, west of Baldwin Rd.  The operator of a 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle had stopped for traffic when a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban, which was also traveling westbound, failed to stop and struck the motorcycle from behind.  The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and land on the shoulder of the roadway.  Deputies requested to have an OCSO Crash Investigator respond to assist them with the crash investigation.

 

OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  The driver of the motorcycle was treated at the scene by the Brandon Township Fire Department and was transported by Paramedics to McLaren Hospital – Oakland, where he is listed in serious condition.  The driver of the motorcycle did not appear to be wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.  The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released to her parents.  There was no air bag deployment in the Chevrolet Suburban.

 

Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to have a factor in this crash.  The crash remains under investigation by Deputies from the OCSO Crash Reconstruction Unit.

 

VICTIM INFORMATION (Motorcycle): 48 year old male, resident of Metamora Township.

 

DRIVER INFORMATION (Chevrolet Suburban): 18 year old female, resident of Clarkston.
