Former Manager Accused of Robbing Rosie’s, Police Seek Info

(Ferndale Police, June 8, 2017)

Ferndale, MI – 38 Year Old TIMOTHY MARTIN of Willis Village Michigan has been arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering Rosie O’Grady’s bar. Martin is an ex-manager of the bar who left employment there about a month ago. On Sunday 06/04/17 at about 6:30 a.m., investigation shows that MARTIN broke into the side entrance of the building with the intent of stealing money from the safe.  When he broke into the building, he was surprised to see a janitor inside. Martin attempted to bribe the janitor by giving him $2000 dollars of the approximate $25,000 he stole from the safe. Martin knew the combination from the safe as it had not changed since his left his employment there. As he left, Martin also stole the security video systems.

The janitor waited about two hours for the current manager of the business to come to work. He then told the manager what had happened and gave him the money given to him as a bribe. Staff from Rosie’s then phoned Ferndale Police.

The account given by the janitor was credible, and video surveillance footage from City video cameras confirmed his story.

The remaining stolen cash has not yet been recovered. Martin has been arraigned and bond was set at $50,000 cash / surety which was posted.

Anybody with information about this crime is asked to phone Ferndale Police or Crimestoppers where they can leave an anonymous tip and be eligible for a reward.
