Pleasant Ridge to Keep Hoops, Add Time Out Policy

(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 6, 2017)

Pleasant Ridge, MI – The Pleasant Ridge Recreation Commission voted Monday to open the basketball court at Gainsboro Park with a new policy to be put in place.

“If we have three reported incidents within any rolling 14 day period, we will close the court temporarily to give it a time out. Incidents that would be counted include harassment of other park users, public urination, assault or threatening assault, or similar actions,” said City Manager James Breuckman said.

“If we have to close the court three times within any one calendar year, the recreation commission will reconsider the status of the court.”

On April 26 the Recreation Commission decided that a temporary closure of the court was appropriate after a series of incidents like those mentioned above.
