Ferndale, MI – Runners, walkers, joggers, stroller-pushers and leash-pullers wove through the streets Downtown Ferndale for the annual Rainbow Run.  The event coincides with Ferndale Pride, both of which celebrate diversity.

Over 400 people came out to get splattered with multiple colors of cornstarch powder along the route.  A 5k gave runners the most colors to go through, while others – including dogs – enjoyed a shorter route.

The event is organized by the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce and supported by many local businesses including 89X, 93.9 The River, Blue Cross/ Blue Shield- Blue Care Network, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Schmidt & Long PLLC, Kimball Animal Hospital, Gage Products Company, and Painting With A Twist, among others.

Beneficiaries of the event include Ferndale Pride, Habitat for Humanity, Team GUTS, Camp Casey, Blessings in a Backpack, and The Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce.
