Ferndale Schools Announces Selection of Dania Bazzi for Superintendent
(Ferndale Schools, June 3, 2017)
Ferndale, MI – The Ferndale Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Dania Bazzi as our next Superintendent, pending successful contract negotiations. The Board of Education will begin contract negotiations with Dr. Bazzi shortly and hope to officially approve her contract at a Special Board of Education Meeting on June 12th.
“The Board would like to express sincere appreciation to all of the candidates and community members who took the time to participate in this process. We are thrilled with the selection of Dr. Dania Bazzi. Throughout this process Dr. Bazzi has demonstrated all of the characteristics the Board was seeking in the next lead learner of Ferndale Schools. We are very excited to have her join our school family,” said Ferndale Schools Board of Education President, Jennifer LaTosch.
“I am humbled to accept the position of Superintendent of Ferndale Schools. I am very excited to join this diverse community with so much to offer our students. I look forward to continuing the great work with our Board, staff, students and community. I want to thank the Board of Education for the trust they have put in me with this selection. I look forward to working with them to continue to move Ferndale forward,” said Dr. Bazzi.
Dr. Bazzi comes to Ferndale from Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools where she currently serves as Superintendent. Dr. Bazzi has also held the positions of Director of Teaching & Learning for Hamilton Community Schools, School Improvement & Data Consultant with Jackson County Intermediate School District, and a math teacher at John Glenn High School.
Pending successful contract negotiations Dr. Bazzi will begin her work in Ferndale Schools on July 1st.
