Oakland County 115 News Evolving into Oakland County Times

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Feb. 26, 2017)

Ferndale, MI – The Oakland County 115 News (oc115) is transitioning into Oakland County Times.

In 2009 the oc115 started as Ferndale 115 with one reporter, one city, and a dream to improve the state of community journalism.

That dream has grown into a publication serving 55,000 readers and growing.  We’re doing work in multiple cities, winning investigative reporting awards, and helping Oakland County be more informed, inspire and united.

Now we have an incredible opportunity.  We’ve acquired the rights and the domain name that will give us the kind of name that a news organization should have.  This was not possible before due to the high cost of “premium” domains.  With your help the oc115 is growing into Oakland County Times.

This is the time to put the community efforts behind taking this project to the next level.  Help oc115 spring into the Times!

With a solid base of funding we can:

~strategically use freelance reporters to bridge gaps in coverage

~give increased coverage to more cities

~have better marketing materials

~and have a dedicated part time event page coordinator to make sure more organizations can be part of our listings.
