Clawson, MI – A social media trend that’s catching on among libraries is #BookFaceFridays. Staff and patrons find book covers with incomplete faces or bodies, then pose with the books to complete the picture. The Ferndale Area District Library, Blair Memorial Library in Clawson and Berkley Public Library have been sharing pictures on Fridays to fit the theme. Here are 15 fun ones from Clawson!
“We were inspired by libraries all over the country & world that participate in posting #bookface photos on social media. Book Face Fridays have been a great way to showcase items in our collection in a fun & creative way,” said Youth Services Librarian Kristin Church. “These posts are our most popular on Instagram and Facebook. We have gotten really positive feedback from our community. We even had Council Member Matt Ulbrich and his family get in on the fun! One of our favorites features a Stormtrooper from the Great Lakes Garrison holding up a Star Wars book.”
