West Bloomfield: Power of Prayer Kosher Brunch and Learn March 20

West Bloomfield, MI  – The Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan’s SAJE (Seminars for Adult Jewish Enrichment) will present “The Power of Prayer,” a kosher brunch and learn with Rabbi Elyse Goldstein, at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, March 20 at the JCC, 6600 W. Maple Road in West Bloomfield.

Rabbi Elyse Goldstein, the first woman to be elected president of the interdenominational Toronto Board of Rabbis and president of the Reform Rabbis of Greater Toronto, is director of Kolel: The Adult Center for Liberal Jewish Learning and the author/editor of four books, including the award-winning New Jewish Feminism: Probing the Past, Forging the Future.

She will discuss new ways to look at Jewish prayer, including what other religions can teach us about its importance. Her presentation will be followed by a book sale and signing.
