Person Over 60 Needed to Represent Oakland County on Committee

Pontiac, MI – The Oakland County Board of Commissioners (BOC) is seeking an older adult representative to serve on the Oakland County Area Agency on Aging Subcommittee. Interested individuals must be at least 60 years of age and reside in Oakland County. The representative selected will serve a two-year term, beginning on January 1, 2017 and ending on December 31, 2018. A mileage reimbursement per diem will be provided. The deadline to apply is February 9, 2017.

The Area Agency on Aging was established pursuant to Michigan Compiled Law 400.589. The Agency assists in developing and coordinating policies and programs to meet the needs of the County’s aging and older population. The Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA-1B) is a non-profit organization responsible for improving the lives of the more than 420,000 seniors in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Oakland Counties. The 20-member Board has representatives appointed from Oakland County as follows:

One (1) Oakland County Commissioner

One (1) Non-voting Oakland County Commissioner Alternate

One (1) Older Adult Representative (any person 60 years of age or older)
