(OCSO, Nov. 29, 2016)
Pontiac, MI – The attached photo is a child who was found walking on the sidewalk on Baldwin Road near Legrande Ave in the City of Pontiac this morning. He says his name is Ben and we estimate he is approximately 3 years old. He does not know where he lives and is unable to provide his mom or dad’s name. Currently, he is at the Sheriff’s Pontiac Substation station and Child Protective Services is there also. We are requesting the public’s assistance in locating his family. If you recognize this boy please call the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Operations Center at 248-858-4911.
UPDATE:
Update:
* At approximately 1PM today while conducting an additional canvass of the neighborhood Sheriff’s Deputies were given a possible address for the child in the 300 block of Baldwin.
* Deputies received no answer at that location and entered the residence to conduct a welfare check.
* A 16 year old female was found in an upstairs bedroom asleep. She was able to provide information that led to the three year old’s mother and father who both responded to the Sheriff’s Pontiac Substation. The 16 year old was not the designated babysitter and did not know the child had been dropped off at the home.
* Initial information indicates that there was a miscommunication between the parents and the babysitter who was supposed to be at that house when the child was dropped off this morning and she was not there.
* Child Protective Services was contacted and responded to the Pontiac Substation where they took temporary custody of the three year old until all the facts can be sorted out. The investigation continues.
