Holly Welcomes Holiday
Season with Light Parade, Tree Lighting & Awards
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Nov. 25, 2016)
Holly, MI – The rain did not stop Santa and Mrs. Claus from visiting the Village of Holly for the annual tree lighting ceremony on Friday. Led by the Holly Bronchos Marching Band and a parade of lighted vehicles, the Christmassy couple stayed warm in their velvety red suits.
They were also there to help cheer on the winners of the 2016 Awards, presented by the Holly Chamber of Commerce.
N.Reding and Sons LLC won for winning business of the year.
Tony Engelberg was selected as Individual of the Year.
Cal and Kathy Steele and their grandson Joshua Kirby were named family of the Year.
And The Women of the Moose earned Organization of the Year.
Each of the honorees will be celebrated at the Chamber’s upcoming Annual Dinner and Ugly Sweater Party on Saturday, Dec. 3. The event is open to anyone who’d like to buy a ticket, not just Chamber members. For more info check out the event listing.
Also joining the Claus’ on stage were characters from the Holly Dicken’s Festival, which has events running this weekend and the following two weekends. This is where classic literature comes to life in an historic setting. Learn more at http://hollydickensfestival.org/.
