Pontiac, MI – Better Pontiac Community Development Corporation is proud to present its first annual holiday fundraiser.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, December 8, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., will be held at one of the city’s many new small businesses, Exferimentation Brewery, located downtown at 7 N Saginaw St. Pontiac, MI 48342, directly across from the historic and soon-to-reopen Strand Theater.
Tickets, priced at $15, will include the patron’s first beverage (beer, wine, or soft drink), a commemorative ornament, chili competition (to be judged democratically by our patrons) 
featuring local Pontiac cooks, a silent auction featuring a custom keg of beer crafted by Exferimentation’s brewmasters, and a chance to meet neighbors, build community, and support the revitalization of the city.
Community development includes strengthening neighborhoods not only by improving physical structures and beautifying public spaces, but strengthening the social bonds and community pride that make us all feel more connected.
Our past and ongoing projects include the organization and execution of many clean-ups of our parks, streets, and public spaces. We sponsor a completely free comic art workshop -including publishing- for local teens, and have raised thousands of dollars to restore Historic Oak Hill Cemetery by organizing walking tours with actors from Pontiac Theater IV.
We also look forward to helping our local 4H club build a fence to protect the community gardens, providing backpacks full of school supplies to local kids, championing a buy-local campaign, and redeveloping some lots of our own according to new urbanist principles.
