ROYAL OAK, MI. – Downtown Royal Oak invites families to the 15th Annual Holiday Magic Parade presented by Genisys Credit Union on Sunday, November 20th at 2pm.  The parade starts at Lincoln and Washington and heads north on Washington to Fourth Street where it heads west and ends at Lafayette.
This Downtown Royal Oak parade will once again kick off the holiday season by showcasing over 80 parade units including marching bands, floats from the Parade Company, circus performers, dance troupes and more!
Jay Towers from 100.3 WNIC will serve as the parade’s Grand Marshal again this year.  And, Go Comedy Ad leafy greennew this year, kids (ages 5 to 12) can visit the Royal Oak branch of Genisys Credit Union (located at 530 N. Main, Royal Oak, MI 48067) to enter to win the opportunity to be the official Junior Grand Marshal of the parade with Jay Towers.  The drawing will be held on November 14th at 2pm.  In addition to walking in the parade, the winner will get covered, VIP seating at the parade for up to 8 guests.
New, unwrapped toys will be collected along the parade route or at the parade Main Stage again, and will be donated to the Royal Oak Youth Assistance a 58 year old, community-based program whose mission is to strengthen youth and families and to prevent and reduce delinquency, neglect, and abuse through community involvement.
Also new this year, OUR Credit Union is offering a contest to ride on a float that they sponsor in the parade.  OUR Credit Union members should check with their local branch for information on entering the contest!Chazzano02
After the parade, there will be visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Skyward Real Estate (519 S. Washington) from 3-5pm, plus Santa’s reindeer will be hanging out at the Fifth Street walkway between Washington Avenue and Lafayette Streets until 4:30pm.  Be sure to bring your camera to capture the fun!
Back this year, Kids Eat Free!  Starting Sunday, November 20th – December 18th, kids eat free at participating restaurants with the purchase of an adult meal.  Visit DineRoyalOak.org for details.
