Pontiac, MI – On Friday, November 18, 2016, the Women’s Alliance of Southeastern Michigan will host its third annual conference for women, Business Protocols for Success, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Auburn Hills Marriott Centerpoint, located at 3600 Centerpoint Parkway in Pontiac, Michigan.
Business Protocols for Success includes an interactive training session, luncheon with live entertainment, panel discussion, and an award ceremony. The goal of the conference aligns with the mission of the Women’s Alliance of Southeastern Michigan, a non-profit organization committed to serving as a mentoring resource for women seeking workforce advancement.
“The training session is designed to teach participants techniques that heighten their awareness of their own emotional intelligence in order to take full advantage of professional opportunities,” said event facilitator Joscelyn Davis, president and CEO of JADE Strategies.
Conference highlights include the presentation of the second annual Glass Ceiling Award™ to recipient Gail Perry-Mason, author and senior director at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. The award honors a professional woman who personifies the key attributes of leadership: strength, intelligence, and grace. The conference also includes a panel discussion featuring three industry professionals who will share insights and lessons learned on their paths to leadership: Irene Spanos, Oakland Co. director of EDC and community affairs; Dorothy Deremo, principle of The Deremo Group; and Patricia Holton Garrett, president of the Oakland County chapter of the National Congress of Black Women.
Ex-officio representative to the Women’s Alliance, Oakland County Commissioner Marcia Gershenson, said, “We’re very pleased to partner with United Way for Southeastern Michigan again this year to bring this conference to women representing all populations in our community, including established professionals seeking to advance their skills, those just beginning or transitioning in their careers, as well as low-income and underemployed women.”
General admission tickets are $40 and $35 for full-time students and senior citizens. To register, visit www.WomensAlliance.Eventbrite.com.
The Women’s Alliance of Southeastern Michigan is a nonprofit organization established in 2013. The organization sponsored the first Business Protocols for Success conference for all women in 2015, preceded by a resource conference benefitting veteran women of the U.S. Armed Forces in 2014.
