White Lake, MI – Friday November 18 through Sunday, November 20, the Arts and Greens Holiday Arts Market kicks off the gift giving season with its one-of-a-kind blend of fine art, high-end crafts, , music and horticulture.
Celebrating its 11th year, “Arts and Greens is unlike any other holiday arts market due in large part to the stunning backdrop that the Bogie Lake Greenhouses gives us,” said Erin Sabo, HVCA Executive Director.
Presented in partnership with Bogie Lake Greenhouses owners Patty and Mark Watkins, this daytrip_comfort-in-grand-blancannual event occurs inside the extraordinary 28,000-square-foot facility located at 1525 Bogie Lake Road in White Lake and features natural lighting, plants, flowers and lovely holiday greens.
More than 50 artists offer a wide range of wares using a variety of materials and methods, including fused glass, porcelain, wood, clay, fiber art, leather handbags, various types of jewelry, polymer photography/mixed media, etched river rock, drawing/printmaking, bead work and fabric accessories, knitting, jewelry, and photography.
In addition to visual art, the event also offers children’s activities of basketry and gingerbread house-making.
Back by popular demand is the HVCA “Tuba Christmas” concert, scheduled for 2 p.m. garden16_cherie_rolfeSaturday; the event features a jam session comprised of as many tuba and euphonium players as possible.
In addition to sponsoring the beautiful event space, Patty Watkins of Bogie Lake Greenhouses will offer a free workshop Saturday at 11 a.m. on making fresh, beautiful and unique holiday decorations. She’ll offer another Sunday at 1 p.m. focusing on secrets she’s discovered in decorating with evergreens, including making arrangements more easily and quickly that will last longer.
Admission and parking are free for the event; food is available for purchase from the food truck and restaurant Meat Shop.
