Oak Park, MI – Community-wide Chanukah festival, Chanu-Con!, will make its inaugural debut on Sunday, December 4th from 1 pm – 5 pm at Congregation Beth Shalom in Oak Park, MI.
Event planners bill the festival as one of the Detroit area’s largest Chanukah-themed events, providing fun and entertainment for all ages.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Chanu-Con! features a kosher food truck and other Chanukah-themed food vendors, a tin can auction style raffle with over fifty UrbaneAd_04valuable prizes, retail vendors offering a variety of holiday gift ideas, live children’s musical entertainment by Music Man Dave, a bounce house, face painting, Chanukah arts and crafts, and much more.
“An extra special draw is our wide variety of tin can auction prizes,” said Beth Rodgers, event coordinator. “Local businesses have been especially generous. Prize contributors range from the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Opera House, and Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle, to Men’s Wearhouse, Tamarack Camps, and Detroit Kid City. And that is just the start of the list.”
Chanu-Con! has been generously funded by local businesses including promotional sponsor Cohen / Lerner / Rabinovitz Attorneys and Counselors, musical entertainment sponsor The McCarty Team Realtors, children’s activities sponsor Masserman Photography, graphic design sponsor Adrienne Groff Design, and general business sponsor Men’s Wearhouse.
Admission to the event is free, with food and merchandise items available for purchase. Some SaharaNEW02children’s activities are free, while others have a nominal fee. Raffle tickets will range in cost from 50 cents to $5.00.
Beth Shalom is located at 14601 Lincoln St. in Oak Park.
