Reporter Food: Upside Down Smoothie from Jacq n’
Diane’s
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Nov. 6, 2016)
Holly, MI – My favorite treat when I go to Holly is actually something healthy that makes me feel great. Jacq n’ Diane’s Juice Box makes smoothies out of fresh fruits and veggies, and I love them.
The past couple of time’s I’ve gotten the “Upside Down,” which has sweet potato, carrot, orange and pineapple. The ingredients give it a nice orange color, as well as essential nutrients like Vitamin A, Vitamin C and beta-carotene.
The smoothies are made fresh before your eyes, in a super powerful blender that quickly pulverizes the fruits and vegetables. It’s fun to watch, and fun to enjoy in a setting full of tye-dyed tables and ever-changing art on the walls. The owners – a mother and daughter team – are working on adding soup and chili for the winter. They also serve salads and vegan desserts.
They are a sponsor of oc115, but even if they weren’t this is a place I would go as often as possible anyhow. Especially now since they have expanded their offerings to having three sizes. The small is great for a snack to enjoy there and the large is perfect to take home to sip for a long night of writing.
